William —— 在巴黎街头寻找诗意

William 曾是军人,如今是巴黎铁路警察。他用手机拍摄黑白街头影像,把日常瞬间变成安静而有力量的视觉故事。

William 走上摄影之路,与他一段由责任、坚韧与转变所塑造的人生密不可分。

在成为一名街头摄影师之前,他曾作为军人服役十五年,为国家奉献自己的力量。这段经历也为他赢得了多项军事荣誉,其中包括因勇气与英勇行为而获得的 军事奖章(Military Medal) 以及 战斗员十字勋章(Combatant’s Cross)。如今,他在巴黎铁路警察部门担任警察,继续从事一份致力于保护和帮助他人的职业。

摄影最早进入他的生活是在 1998 年的一次黎巴嫩任务期间。最初,这只是他用来记录生活片段的一种个人方式,但随着时间的推移,它逐渐发展成一种持久的表达形式,并伴随他走过人生的不同阶段。

在经历了一系列个人挫折之后,William 曾做出一个艰难的决定:彻底离开摄影。他卖掉了自己所有的摄影设备,包括相机、镜头以及无人机——尽管他本身是一名专业的无人机飞行员。这段暂停并不是结束,而是一种过渡。2023 年,在寻找新的生活方向时,他通过铁路警察的强化训练后调往巴黎,开始了新的职业阶段。沉浸在这座城市的节奏之中,他再次感到一种无法抗拒的冲动——去拍摄这座城市的氛围,以及那些赋予城市生命的人们。

在没有专业摄影设备的情况下,William 转而使用身边唯一可用的工具——他的 Xiaomi 手机。正是在这样的限制中,他逐渐形成了一种新的创作身份,并开启了 Instagram 项目 @thestrangerinthestreet。在这里,讲述故事比技术上的完美更加重要。

作为一名热爱音乐的人,他将音乐的感性融入自己的视觉语言之中,创作出带有电影感与内省气质的影像。通过选择黑白摄影,他希望为画面增添情感深度与时间感,使观看者能够更加专注于氛围、姿态与叙事,而不是色彩本身。

对 William 来说,摄影并不只是关于设备,而更多是一种观察世界的方式——一种分享瞬间、情绪以及城市诗意片段的方式。至于是否达到技术上的完美,其实并不重要;真正重要的是创作本身的喜悦,以及讲述故事的愿望。
